A Series engines
We are keen to promote the use of the A series and its development into the future. In 2008 JLH continued to develop its relationship with local A series tuning company SMMC, and we are proud to announce the release of our Maestro crank and breather conversion for any 1275 derived A series motor.
The purpose of this modification is to create a superior crank oil seal and eliminate the usual leaks. The addition of the alloy spacer plate also offers better breathing for the crankcase, a useful feature with big bore engines and forced induction. We also currently offer standard reconditioning if all the A series variants, including the 1275cc Ital, Marina and MG units.

In keeping with our emphasis on sporting Minors, we also offer performance enhancements for these engines, the most common being over boring of the 1275 unit to 1380 and 1380 plus turbo charging. We also offer a conversion to 1360 cc, which is considerably cheaper than the 1380 as it does not involve off-setting the pistons. This conversion gives much improved torque. Future developments will see the inclusion of superchargers.
